I’ve worked with WBS Group on a couple of occasions. In this instance, they introduced us to the lean concept and together we initiated a lean programme for the factory.
WBS Group completed a full value-stream analysis of the current state. They found that our supply chain was unnecessarily complicated and with poor visibility which created waste.
WBS made numerous recommendations concerning - the quick wins we should implement to bring us immediate savings, the medium term rationalisations we could make in stock, products and transportation and the longer term strategic vision of the supply chain.
We started implementing their ideas with some basic Kaizen Blitz and 5S events, we then improved our workplace organisation bringing in more sophisticated tools such as error proofing and setup reduction.
To support the changes happening on the shop floor and to ensure sustainability, WBS ran a number of training initiatives on Facilitation, Lean, SMED, Right First Time and Value Stream Mapping. This involved training the management and then the training cascaded down through the organisation.
