A search to make constant improvements has led Deluxe UK to a new training initiative, Karin Enskog reports
Deluxe managers at Enfield and Brentford have taken part in a pilot training scheme to promote Management Excellence
The course, involving one day of training per month, covering empowerment, coaching, facilitation, project management and problem solving. "It has been interesting to observe the change in some individuals from an initial anxiety concerning participation to active involvement over the last few months" said Lisa Derbyshire, Distribution Centre Manager, Deluxe Enfield.
Practice Makes Perfect
The programme, a carefully thought-out mix of theory and practice, not only helped enforce messages and encourage quicker learning, but also made the course more enjoyable.
The programme included a significant amount of role play which enabled the participants to practice the techniques learnt and also receive feedback on their performance in a classroom environment. "The confidence during training has been witnessed in the workplace where many trainees have been actively utilising their new found skills and techniques", said Lisa.
